Shanty is constantly vigilantly scanning for fish. If she sees someone holding a fish, she will swoop in and snatch it from them. She's not particularly picky about taking off a finger or two. She also can't actually see all that well and so has a hard time determining whether something is a fish or not. Shanty's philosophy on this is better safe than sorry.
